Conclusion

This class was interesting and engaging in topics that most people aren’t discussing. I enjoyed this class because it allowed us to have open conversations and educated us in topics most of us knew nothing about. I learned a lot of terms I think all of us should have already known but have never heard about.

I took a Women’s Studies course but I wasn’t really interested in participating in that class because I didn’t really care until I joined this class. This class put the things I learned in that class in examples that I could actually understand and care about. The conversations we had in class are becoming prominent in our society and topics we will all have to deal with in the work place.

The two topics I really enjoyed talking about in this class were the blue eyes vs. brown eyes and the Williams sister’s controversy at Indian Wells. I have heard of the eyes case but I really enjoyed covering the William sister’s incident.

When I heard about the brown vs. blue eyes in another class we talked about the social aspect of the problem. I really enjoy this case and I think it’s important to cover this topic with younger children so that the controversial topics are covered early and then when those children grow up they are knowledgeable in subjects that we covered in this class.

The only blog I have seen that wasn’t mine was the mock draft. I really enjoyed how they did their presentation and covered their topic. Drafting a gay player is a subject that will eventually need to be addressed and I think they did a good job of covering how it would happen.
